The former US Coast Guard Station at Still Pond Creek has been transformed into a public venue for the arts in Kent County. The substantial brick structure is located on a picturesque point at the mouth of Still Pond Creek and includes nine individual studios with running water and private bathroom. Housed in the complex are a large ceramics center and rooms for meetings, classes and art displays. The grounds surrounding the center are slated to become a sculpture garden that meanders through a natural setting of native flora, with stunning views of the bay and Still Pond Creek. The Arts at Still Pond Station will provide Kent County with a dynamic public center for the creation and display of a wide variety of artworks, youth and adult instructional classes, and an exhibition site for responsible, sustainable, bay-friendly environmental design. Individual artist studios can be selected and reserved. Contact us for more information.
